For the most part, I'm just kinda Meh about psionics. I don't actively want them nor actively don't want them. I just don't much care.

Similar. I chose "no" because I don't particularly care for them...psionics don't fit my personal aesthetic for a low-fantasy world...but I'm not really that vested in it one way or another.

(And, yes, I'm fully prepared for incoming strident demands that I define the difference between 'magic' and 'psionics' along with accusations that I'm being arbitrary, inconsistent, etc....)

I picked "yes."

Even though . . .

I've always loved the idea of psionics in D&D, but the execution has IMO always had issues. It's either been too simple (ie pointless) or too complicated, and since it's never been part of the base game, the application has always been inconsistent.

I kind of like the way 5e did it, at least originally, with "psionics" just being a tag on some monster abilities and no other real impact on the game. I have not seen the 2024 material at all, though, and I understand there are some differences now.

While you have had issues getting people to play psionics, which is sad. I promise there are people out there who do.

I get shouted out in discords, on the forums, and in direct messages on X and Bluesky and Tumblr and Discord from people who are playing Espers or who have a player at their table playing their 2nd or 3rd Esper in a row because it makes them happy.

And I hope I never stop getting that kind of feedback, ever. It's more precious to me than I have words to encapsulate!

I vote "yes", mostly because psionics is a big factor in one of my homebrewed settings and is present in others. That said, for me it really depends upon the setting and genre. I like powers/magic/weird tech to be thematifc in my homebrews and any prewritten setting I might use, so it really depends on whether psionics is a good fit. I wouldn't allow, or care to play in, a campaign where psionics is just a tack-on.
