If we treat this castle as some kind of broken place with alien geometry, where reality itself is falling apart you can have a nice opportunity for a "partyless party game", where characters are constantly separated and united.

*the building changes colors like a chameleon
*fountains of the four humours
*feeling of being watched
*random living items like in Summercamp Island
*Anything that dies there is digested
*Illusory or semi-real occupants/servants/staff/guests
*Blatantly a metaphor for body or mind, like the titular palace in Edgar Allan Poe's The Haunted Palace.
*Stuff from any of those corny smart house gone amok sciemce fiction programs but adapted to be magic instead of technological
*Things that are normally alive slowly become inanimate and inorganic

I was thinking:

The Breathing Castle: Thea castle breathes and sucks the breath of ones within requiring them to make a save (type dependent on game). If they fail, they become slowed, stunned or start to "drown".

Constricting Walls:
The castle walls move in constricting, and players suffer damage unless they escape that area with a save or ability check.

*liquid that falls on the floor is "drank" by the building
*at least a heart room and a brain room, even if you don't do rooms representing all the major organs
*The building slowly grows over time, possibly accelerated if it absorbs the right material
*constructs and earth elementals
*The wall decor comes to life and laughs at you like in The Evil Dead
*Elevator full of blood like in The Shining and Evil Dead 5
*A noxious miasma seeps from the back entrance
