The Radiant Burst channel divinity feature for Sun Priest archetype is quite good. It is a reason for choosing Sun Priest over War Priest.
Are you planning to use a weapon, or a cantrip to do damage when not casting higher level spells?
A weapon will generally do more damage before level 5, as it gets your ability modifier to attack and damage. It's moot at level 5, as cantrips start to outstrip weapon damage at that point, unless you're boosting your weapon attack with a cantrip like Booming Blade or Green-Flame Blade from 5E D&D if your DM allows those.
Assuming you have Dexterity 14, you'll get +2 attack/damage with a finesse weapon. You'll have simple weapon proficiency, so your best options are heavy crossbow (1d10 two-handed) or sling (1d4 one-handed) for ranged attacks, or dagger (1d4) in melee.
On the other hand, if you went with Strength 16, you'll get +3 attack/damage, and can use a greatclub (d8 one-handed) in melee, with the same ranged options as above.
Alternatively, if you get the druidic Shillelagh cantrip somehow, then you can get your Wisdom modifier to attack/damage with your club.
