I'm guessing the features were calculated the way 3.x used multipliers. x(M1+(M2-1)+(M3-1)+...) This way the numbers would fit.
Hey, thanks for the reply.
While that would probably be why, is there any text in the rules to indicate this? I can’t seem to find anywhere and it’s not intuitive that it would work that way.

I think I found an error in Morrus' Stronghold builder, as it only specifies +2 as the ability bonus for a level 6 Stronghold.

Here's my interpretation of the stronghold ability score increase rules on LUA5E page 362:
  • "When you acquire a stronghold of Grade 3 or higher or upgrade a stronghold to Grade 3, one of your ability scores increases by 1 ..."
  • "When you acquire a stronghold of Grade 6 or higher or upgrade a stronghold to Grade 6, your ability score increases by 2, and the maximum for that ability score increases by 2."
  • "If you have a choice between ability scores, you choose which ability score to increase each time you gain this benefit."
So my interpretation of this is that you get +1 to an ability score at stronghold level 3, and a further +2 to the ability score and its maximum at stronghold level 6. Hence, a level 6 stronghold gives a total of +3 to an ability score, and +2 to the maximum thereof. I believe this is the intended meaning, particularly given the third bullet.

My thanks to Morrus for the Stronghold Builder - it is quite nice. :)
