D&D (2024) Removing Concentration

If your DM removed concentration, but was very rigid and on top of spell durations, what spells would you abuse? What combos would you be concerned about?
Polymorph and Banishment would be problems. Polymorphing yourself into a big threat is risky because any damage can end it.

Banishment goes without saying; without concentration the spell always lasts the entire duration. A single failed save puts an extraplanar creature out of the fight.

Haste + Fly + Greater Invisibility = Can't touch this v1
Greater Invisibility + Mirror Image + Blur = Can't touch this v2
Sprit Guardians + Moonbeam + Storm Sphere + = AoE Spam

Dominate X
Conjure Animals - unlimited minions
Polymorph - cast on all your friends
Summon X
Wall of Force & Web = lockdown your enemies

Sickening radiance + wall of force = kill nearly anything.

Suggestion lasts longer and is only a level 2 slot.

"Run as far away as you can", for 8 hours, will mostly do the same thing. Plus all the other effects.

I mean, spell durations are typically "1 minute", which equals 10 rounds.

That tells me:
  • a battle will almost never last long enough for the duration to matter
  • if it does matter, that means the DM plans on having 10+ round combats, so I'd make sure I'd have plenty of ways to entertain myself for the two-hour long battles
There's a reason why (at least in 2014) WOTC gives the advice, "you can change almost everything, but we don't recommend messing with Concentration". I absolutely wouldn't play a martial in this campaign.

edit: oh, and yeah - to directly answer the question: banishment. Really, any of the hard-CC spells.
